It was great to meet with our member delegates from our 15 affiliated clubs for the 2023 Annual General Meeting on 11 December, conducted virtually via zoom.

I am very pleased to welcome Luke Fleming, newly elected director to join the Board of the Sydney East Hockey Association. The Board is pleased to officially announce the following line-up of seven directors for 2024:

At the AGM we were pleased to present our 2023 Annual Report, which includes our financial performance, audited annual accounts, and reports on our competitions, development programs and representative achievements and honours. Please take the time to peruse the achievements this year.

Two Notices of Motion were approved at the AGM

• Notice of Special Resolution to amend the Constitution as it relates to AGM notification timeframes.                                                      
• Approve and Accept Reevesby Workers Hockey Club request to HNSW to withdraw from Sydney East Hockey Association.

The meeting took the opportunity to discuss changes that will impact us in 2024:

• The HNSW 2024 State Championship Structure and Impact to SEHA Representative and Junior Competition Structure 2024 – discussion led by Chris Thuell Representative Director
• The HNSW - SEHA Futures Academy discussion led by Garry Labana SEHA Head of Pathways
• Operation of the SEHA Representative Policy, and opportunities for improvement – where it was agreed to establish a Representative Policy Review Working Group and invite clubs to nominate a representative to repconvenor@seha.com.au
