Development

The Sydney East Hockey Association champions development. Development activities include planning and implementation of all aspects of development as it relates to players, officials, clubs and the game of hockey alike in our region.

Our programs include:

Hockey NSW Futures Academy delivered by SEHA launched over summer in 2023/24 with a pilot program for identified athletes u18, u16 an u14.

Hockey NSW Centre of Developnment Program for kids between 10 and 14 players that provides an opportunity for kids to learn and develop their fundamental hockey skills. Register here 

At the end of the COD program all participants are invited to a three-day fun games-based event - New Balance Regional Challenge for 2026 will be held from Friday the 27th February to Sunday the 1st March 2026 the location will be announced shortly.

  • Eligable DOBs for the program are 2012 and 2013 (U14s) and 2013 and 2015 (U12s).  It is recommended that children aged up to and including having already turned 12 in 2025, should register in the 12 age group particularly those who are new to hockey. The 14 age group is recommended for all 13 and 14 year olds and some of the more experienced younger players may also be suitable to register for this age group.
  • Choose the SEHA locations: Daceyville and Cintra at Concord.
  • The 2025/2026 COD New Balance Regional Challenge will take place in from Fri 27 Feb to Sun 1st March2024 location TBC. This is the culminating event of COD and is one of the showpiece tournaments on the Hockey NSW calendar.

Active Kids Voucher

YOUR $50 ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHER CAN BE USED FOR COD. TO APPLY FOR AND CLAIM YOUR 2ND VOUCHER HERE:  CLICK HERE 

To use your Active Kids Vouchers for COD, you will need to complete thissurveywith your child's full name, DOB, Active Kids Voucher number & Voucher QR code. This needs to be done BEFORE you register your child for COD. Once you have completed the survey above you will receive a unique discount code via email that you will be able to apply to the registration and get $50 or $100 off the total depending on the number of vouchers you have provided.

PLEASE NOTE:Any Active Kids rebate applied to COD registration fees cannot be refunded directly to participants as per the NSW Government's Terms and Conditions for the Active Kids Program.

Closing Date

Registration for the program will close on Tuesday, 25 November.
